Vision for Prayer in GCF
The goal of the GCF campus prayer meetings is to provide a place where busy
grad students can regularly meet during the day to seek God; give and receive
encouragement; intercede on behalf of our friends, the campus, and the world;
and be aware of the workings of the Spirit. We believe that corporate
prayer is a necessary part of a mature and effective Christian life, and
indispensable to the proper functioning of the Body of Christ.
Our vision for GCF prayer is threefold: Firstly, we pray because we want
to be a fellowship that is powerful in prayer, that is equipped to take a
stand "against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of
this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly
realms" (Eph 6:12). Secondly, we pray together so that we might be
a fellowship whose members love and support each other, suffering together
and rejoicing together (Rom 12:26). And last but not least, we pray
consistently in order that we remain a fellowship that constantly relies
on God, listens for God, and acknowledges its need for God.
